Singer/Songwriter
As a child, Kevin Kareckas could identify the differences between the sirens of all the fire trucks in his home town. His passion for sound and cultivation of the melodies and repetition found in everyday life is a driving force for his work. Kevin plays string instruments, mostly. He is captivated by the ukulele and dabbles with guitar, banjo, mandolin, and bass. Capitalizing on a year in the romantic city of Rzeszow, Poland, Kevin removed himself from all of his instruments. Two days later, he found himself in a music store hunting the perfect companion for his year overseas: a concert ukulele.
A year living in a small room overlooking Siemienskiego, a commuter street in Rzeszow remains a source of inspiration for Kevin. He refers to his Polish musical work as his personal "Year of Compression." He recorded a rather raw EP using only a "built-in" laptop microphone into Garageband. Stripped of all of his typical creature comforts (microphones) he developed as a singer and a producer.
His solo album frames a perspective of the the pulse of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The snow-capped peaks and rolling landscapes of Caledonia County have significantly informed his music and writing.
Kevin moved to Addison County in Vermont, where he is continuing to hone his craft. Listeners can expect some studio collaboration with musicians from all across New England in by the warm months of 2018 ;-)

Producer
Inputs and outputs have always been easy for him to visualize. It's no surprise that he finds passion in studio recording and live sound. He is currently working with the talented Nikki Adams of Rutland, Vermont. Nikki Adams is a fellow educator and musician. The duo met a few years ago and exhibit an infectious energy when placed in the same room. Nikki recently released her self-titled EP, which Kevin engineered and produced. It's available on many major streaming sources such as apple music and spotify.
